I love to give and receive gifts, but watching someone open a gift from me is a gift in itself. I always try to put a little creative energy behind the gift I give...sometimes I may make a "homemade" gift to make it a little more personal. The most wonderful way to spend Christmas morning though is with children!! Seeing their eyes light up when they look under the tree and see what Santa left for them...that's priceless!
Here are a few gift suggestions:
Coffee Gift Baskets
One year I decided to make up Coffee Gift Baskets for some friends and they were a hit! I bought some holiday mugs (the tall ones), coffee packets (flavored, regular, decaf), teas and hot chocolate packets, cookies (shortbread, etc). I was able to find small Christmas tealight candle houses...threw in some cinnamon sticks, some candy, and a few candles. I wrapped everything up in a beautiful Christmas basket, tied it off with a bow and some candy canes!
Candle Gift Baskets
Another favorite of mine to make is this one. They are very simple and everyone loves candles!
I found some baskets (some with holiday designs, some without for use during the entire year), some votive holders (holiday), tealight houses, etc., and candles....Votives, tapers, tealights, small jar candles, you name it... it was in there! A different variety of scents (mostly for the holiday season) and a few other little things I found personalized for the individual receiving it.
Bath Gift Baskets
As you can probably tell...I have a theme going and I love baskets! This is very easy to put together...again start out with a basket and fill it will all different bath items....soaps, lotions, bath oils, bubble bath. You can add in holiday washcloths, or colored puffs (you know, those meshy things on a string!) You can keep it all to one scent such as, raspberry or strawberry or mix and match. I also like to include the "eye mask" (the one you freeze) so that you can relax in the tub. Don't forget to throw in some aromatherapy candles!
I enjoy taking the time to make each basket as individual as the friend or relative receiving it...detailing it to their specific tastes! Making these gift baskets are very inexpensive (look for sales, buy in bulk) and the best part is that each time someone uses your gift....they are thinking of you!
