Wedding Morning
At 5:00 a.m. the alarm went off! I was so nervous and excited. Our appointment at the salon was scheduled for 7:30 a.m., so we all got ready and headed down for the continental breakfast in the hotel... My stomach was doing flip-flops and I couldn't believe this day was finally here! I managed to drink some coffee and have a bite or two of a small muffin. Over breakfast, I found out that after I went to sleep the night before, Helen, MaryEllen and my sister left Gram's room and sat in in the hotel lobby chit-chatting until well past 3:00 a.m.!! And I thought I didn't get much sleep!
We arrived at the salon about 7:20 a.m. My sister and I were getting both our hair and make-up done, while Helen was just having her hair done. Gram took care of her own hair before we left the hotel and didn't want anyone to fuss over her at the salon. Our stylist was running late and of course, I started to panic! There was another wedding party in the salon that same morning and we all had a blast! I originally had hoped we would be finished and at the house by 10:00 - the wedding was scheduled for 12:00 noon and this would give us plenty of time to relax a bit, dress, and have pictures taken. Well... the hair and make-up took a bit longer than expected and we didn't leave the salon until almost 10:30... by this time I was in a total panic, but it worked out well as our photographer had not arrived at the house yet either! The weather than morning did not cooperate with me either... it was cloudy, grey, and it started to drizzle. I was very disappointed that we would not be able to have the wedding ceremony and reception outside as originally planned... but at this point, I didn't care if I had to marry Jeff in the kitchen!!
