Last Night Out
My Bachelorette party was very simple and very "non traditional"... my sister, Helen, Gram and I all went to dinner... I started to get really nervous during dinner and did not eat very much as this is when it all "hit" me!!...I was getting married tomorrow!! After dinner, we went back to the hotel. My friend MaryEllen arrived shortly after we did and the party officially began. I had gifts for everyone and they had gifts for me as well... I was so embarrassed opening some of those fun/novelty gifts in front of my grandmother! But, as she said, it's nothing she hadn't seen before. Wow!! I did not expect that comment from her!! In addition to bringing some bubbly, MaryEllen came with 5 huge bags for each of us, filled with all sorts of goodies... she called them our "pamper bags"! Since I was the bride, my bag contained a few more extra's in it like a cookbook, lingerie, and a photo frame. All the bags had pampering stuff in them such as, nail polish, facials, lotions, candles, bath stuff, and a paperback book (romance novel)...little things to make you feel good! They were wonderful and so appreciated!! It was great to just hang out, reminise, play Bridal Bingo and have fun. I spent my "last night of freedom" with the people I love most in the world (other than Jeff) and that was very special for me! If given the choice or chance to do it again, I wouldn't change a thing!

Around 11:30 or so, Jeff called me. His "bachelor party" consisted of he and John going out to dinner and then they spent the rest of the evening hanging out together, doing basically the same thing we were... reminising and having fun. Before leaving the apartment that day, I left a letter on Jeff's pillow... it was my way of "tucking him in" for the night. He loved it!! We talked for about 15 minutes or so and then said good night. Of course, you know, the girls had to tease me about the phone call! Since we had to get up early in the morning, I said goodnight around 1:00 a.m. and retired to the hotel room that Helen and I were sharing, as Michele and Gram were sharing another. And, as you can imagine, I didn't sleep very much that night!!
