Thursday & Friday

The previous weekend, we had picked up my grandmother, who lived out of state. Thursday we were expecting my sister, Michele, my Maid of Honor, to arrive from out of state, as well as our Best Man, John, to arrive in town. That morning, we made confirmation calls and any last minute things we could think of. We picked up the flowers and brought them to Jeff's brother's house where his sister-in-law was going to make the bouquets. We also checked into the hotel room we had reserved for my grandmother and sister. My sister arrived in the late afternoon and our best man arrived in town about the same time. After spending some time with my sister, we all met up at Jeff's brother's house, for some family introductions and to just relax and unwind. Jeff and John headed out to go pick up their tuxedos and we expected them back shortly as we had dinner plans... 3 hours later, we were still waiting for them to come back to the house! Well, apparently, since it was prom weekend, the store was packed! Finally, they returned to the house, and we all went to dinner and then went back to the hotel room for a short while with my sister and gram before saying goodnight.

Friday was a very hectic day!! My sister had an 8:00 a.m. nail appointment at my salon. We all went for breakfast first, then Michele and I left for the salon, while Gram and Jeff went back to our place. Now, we were on a pretty tight time schedule because my friend, Helen, was flying in from NJ and we needed to pick her up at the airport... and get to our wedding rehearsal. After the nail appointment, Michele and I made a last minute stop at Walgreens for a few necessities and then headed back to the hotel to check into the other room we had reserved for Helen. We were running slightly behind schedule and realized we need to get back home since we needed to leave for the airport to pick up Helen. While rushing around trying to get ready to leave, my grandmother decided that she would rather stay at home and relax. Okay... don't panic... she's had a a very exhausting week! I stayed at home with her as I didn't want her to be alone and bored for 3 hours or so.. Jeff and my sister went to the airport to get Helen and I used the time at home to pack since Jeff and I would not be back home until Sunday. Helen's flight was delayed by about 40 minutes...and, of course, I was starting to panic since the rehearsal was set for 3:00 p.m. and the trip to/from the airport takes at least an hour and a half. Thank goodness Gram was with me to keep me calm!! Helen's flight arrived safely and even though they ran into some traffic heading back home, everyone arrived safely and we were only a few minutes late to rehearsal... Pretty good timing, I think!
