Last night I cried
after all these years
The misery inside
revealed by my tears.

Last night I screamed
but no words would sound
What does my life mean
if you're not around.

Last night I dreamt
you were here with me
It was my attempt
to avoid reality.

Last night I ran
as far as I could go
It's still hard to understand
that you're not coming home.

Last night I heard
you whisper to my soul
Speaking all the words
you knew I needed to know.

Last night I thanked
the Lord to show
My gratitude for the time we spent
before you had to go.

Last night I cherished
all our memories
And if granted one wish
I'd have you here with me.

Last night I smiled
when I heard your name
I've walked the longest mile
and will never be the same.
